Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, permaculturist, herbalist, healer, and life- long learner.
She has a BFA in dance from the University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music, a Basic Teacher Training at the Integral Yoga Academy, a 2nd level Reiki certification of natural healing and most recently in 2020 received a Permaculture Design Certification from Ecoversity.
Carrie is a former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company for 13 years. Other artists and companies include Philadanco, Pascal Rioult, 360 Dance, Lauri Stallings Gloatl, and Buglisi Dance Theatre.
Her teaching credits include LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts, The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, SUNY Purchase College, South Carolina Governor’s School for Arts and Humanities, Princeton Day School, The Pennington Studio, Talent Unlimited Performing Arts High School, Princeton Ballet, Integral Yoga of Princeton , Princeton Center for Yoga and Health, and workshops and master classes throughout the United States as well as setting Martha Graham’s master works’ on dance companies, colleges, and schools.
Carrie is the founder of“Exploratory Dance,” a workshop created for non- professionals to explore their own unique movement vocabulary.
Carrie’s own choreography, film, and installations have appeared at the Walt Whitman Theater at Brooklyn College, Westbeth Studio Theater, Tea Lounge, 92nd Street Y, Dohm Alley Princeton NJ, and Stravinsky's L'Histoire Du Soldat at the Carl Fields Center at Princeton University with a live orchestra.
Carrie is the founder of Big Sky Project and Big Sky Yoga & Wellness. Big Sky Project is a grassroots project based multimedia and interdisciplinary art cooperative with its source in the healing power of the earth and art. Some of Big Sky Project’s achievements include P.E.A.C.E. Community Garden and various site specific movement exhibits on the east coast.
Big Sky Yoga & Wellness offers online Hatha, Vinyasa, chair yoga, dance classes, and special themed workshop series. Other offerings include Reiki therapy, homemade healing salves, Culinary herb salts, Herbal vinegars, and T-Shirts with informative messages about mother earth.
